Firstly; In the Chimaera Owners Handbook, Technical Specifications, the Ground Clearance is given as 132mm.

Given that this could be altered as a general value by any component that is attempting to escape (i.e. coming loose and dangling), at what point would one reliably measure from the ground to <something>, to ensure the car is at it's original specified ride height / ground clearance (as a starting point)?

Secondly; I no longer have the original Bilsteins to hand, so can anyone tell me what the downward travel (of the body) was limited to, by the original shock absorbers?

In short, I have issues with my newly fitted shock absorbers (which shall remain brand/model nameless for the time being), and would like to have my facts straight and accurate before I begin haranguing the supplier.

Thanks

The "correct" ride height is "around" 140mm front, 160mm rear. Measured from the chassis plates under the out rights. However as everything is hand built, albeit on jigs, the rule of thumb is very imprecise however it should be in the right ball park...and others have found things better with the suspension set an inch or so lower than that.

Iain

Thanks Iain. That is a good start.

As I change my wheels and settings etc for T/D's and can be a bit an*l, I cut a couple of lengths of dowel or similar to lengths quoted above, (or there abouts) and keep them in the boot to have a quick rule of thumb check!
