Mr Darling said that total fine receipts were £68m, of which £54m was spent on running costs of cameras.

There are now around 5,000 fixed speed cameras

Hmmm - £10,000pa per camera. £200p.w. Running costs are what exactly? A bit of film and a bloke to empty it?

Not winning in the polls, but that won't matter anyway.

Thats what I mean.

Everyday now I seem to hear that cameras are good and more people want them.

To tell you the truth I want them too.
I want them where they are needed though, on view outside schools etc Not on NSLs and hidden places.

Im not against them, im just against the way they are used.
