Tamiya M05 Problem
Discussion
I've been running my M05 for a while now, and had a bit of a bump at the weekend - swerved to avoid the daughter's little RC toy and hit a pothole.
Now, when I try to go forward, the engine whirs (well, whines actually - more so than normal) and the car barely moves. Reverse is fine.
I've quickly taken the front end apart, and nothing's broken, and no teeth appear to be stripped, but it sounds like something is slipping.
any ideas what it might be?
Cheers,
Pinion gear. If the grub screw is loose then it may be connnecting in reverse but not forward.
On the basis you only have three holes for the motor screws the motor cannot have moved. You've obviously checked the spur gears as mentioned, but it may be worth checking the chassis where the gear shaft sits in case it has gone oval.
The final thing is to look at the drive. Are the output cups rotating, dog bones got pins through oth ends, wheels off to see if the hex is complete and the retaining pin is still in place.

Motor is bolted on good and tight, and the drive is fine, dogbones in place, the wheels are actually spinning in reverse. I'll check the grubscrew tonight, might be an easy fix.
Cheers
