Xr2 engine modification

Right im currently upgrading me quantum mk1 kit car which has a xr2 engine in it. I want to get some idea on what to do to get more power out of it or would it be better to fit say a rs turbo enigine from a mk3.

I don't really want to mess around with a different engine with all the extra routing of pipes etc but whats the best ways to modify.

It recently before i bought it had a bottom end rebuild with new rings, shell bearing and other parts for over 800 quid so would be looking at top end.

Im a mechanic so can do the work myself.

Thank you for the information.

Will defently convert to twin webbers.

Will also put a 4 branch manifold, performace cam, upgraded head and a couple of other bits and peices.
