Received a new V5C yesterday and thought it was a bit odd as I already had one for the car.

Anyway, I read the note that came with it, and it turns out they had a batch of blue V5Cs stolen, so they've decided to replace the lot!

How much is that little lot going to cost?!

No wonder our road tax is so expensive...

The right decision though.

They've been issuing red ones for ages, I got one at my change of car in Nov 2010.

There is a change in that in BIG writing on the front, it states that a V5c is not proof of ownership. Some people still don't realise that 'registered keeper' and the legal owner can be different. The continuous insurance regs are finding a few out now! That with the theft of a lot of blue ones may be the trigger to replace them all.

What have you heard ears
Have you seen anyone receive a letter that says DVLA has started checking yet?

The replacement scheme seems to be dragging along slowly.
