Looking to buy a 1997 Explorer for winter 11 months mot, 5months tax asking price 1350. Any thoughts on my potential purchase?

Any owner reviews and things to look out for.

cheers

Sounds a bit pricey, I sold my LHD '99 for half that (bought new in California and driven offroad all over the desert states of the US; seen quite a bit of snow too). I would make sure that it locks into 4WD high and 4WD low without any problem - and invest in AT tyres like General Grabbers; that should see you through the winter.

Good info on http://www.seriousexplorations.com / http://www.explorerforum.com

Edited to add - things to look out for - Google "Explorer timing chain rattle"
