Morning all, just got one of these for my other half and it needs a service.

The book says two service types available, Interim (12k miles)and Major (25k miles).

The car is due a service, and its had 2 already (thats one small and one large). Dealer has said the next service is the large one, at £320.

Doesnt sound right to me, can anyone confirm?

I get mine serviced every 12 months or so, which is about 10k miles for me. I follow the service pattern in the book, which dictates whether it's a minor and major.

Kind of confusing when it comes to Ford major/interim servicing.

The interim service is classed as 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th etc...

The major service is classed as 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th etc...

The major service consists of a bigger service check-list and tends to be more labour intensive. However, every 3 years, there is a bigger parts list. So you will get oil filter, air filter, pollen filter and fuel filter/spark plugs depending on fuel.

However, £320 does seem a pretty rich for a 3rd service! Assuming its a main dealer you are using? Labour rate must be in the £70's?

So, Ford dictate major services as services that use a bigger check list and not necessarily more parts. Basically.

Thanks for the reply chaps.

Yes, this is the 3rd/3-Year Service so maybe this is why its priced as such. Yup main dealer too, its only 3 years old and the dealer local to me has been used for the other 2 services so may as well keep the history up to date and with the same garage.

Maybe I should not be so sceptical! I'll still await the usual brake pad conversation anyway. smile

Check it's had the brake fluid done at two years, as this isn't included in the 2nd year service.
