Is there anywhere in the UK where I can drive my GT3 in and have a chip fitted?

i'm in mosul, north iraq at the moment but willbe home in August.

I've got a very compertant local Lotus mech, but he hasn't ever done a chip before and advised me to go to someone who has.

I live just south of cambridge on the m11.
Didn't "Race speed " used to do it?

Is it a case of just putting the chip in or is there any other bits that need changing? does the chip do all that?

appreaciate the help

That'a a bit of a way then !! Quite a way even when you come back.

Anyway, what you do is take the ECU out ( it's in the right hand side compartment in the engine bay ). It's held in by two nuts and bolts and a bar. It has a single plug. Once you get it out ( it's a bit fiddly ) you undo two screws which secure a plate and under the plate is the chip holder. You unclip the holder and then cut the chip out ( i.e. cut all the legs ). It's not possible to de-solder it so cut the legs you must. Then just push the new chip in and away you go. It's not very hard.

On the V8 ECU I think it's somewhat different but I'm not 100% sure what the differences are. I'm not planning on changing the chip in my Sport 350 as I dont think the box will will take the extra umph.
