Swapping Car insurance because of new car, is there a fee for finding a cheaper quote and then going with someone else? Its been 8 years since i bought a car! Im with admiral but apparently its the same for all insurance companies whatever that is?

If you change company, expect them to invoke their 'short term policy' rates. Basically less than twelve months they don't just pro-rata.

Some brokers may also charge an admin fee.

Yup pretty much all insurers will charge a cancellation fee mid term but if you pay yearly they may owe you money aswell. if you pay monthly you may have to pay the fee plus a bit for every month left on the policy.

either way, expect some arse rapeage.

Mid term cancellation fee is £47.50 pro rata anything left is refunded.
Have you tried just changing the car over for the remaining months?.

Edit also remember if you cancel mid term you don't gain that years NCB, but if you have more than 5 years NCB that probably isn't a problem.
