Evo did a test a little while ago. IIRC the cars were Mini Cooper D, Fiesta Eco, Fiat 500 TwinAir and Citroen DS3.

I think the Mini was the winner with the Fiat close 2nd.

This thread is all wrong for on here, wrong wrong wrong.

Can pick up a Prius for around 4 grand now which is exempt from the charge. You have to apply for exemption with some form or some such and its exemption may not last forever, ive heard the exemption may be removed in 2013 but nothing concrete yet i dont think.

If you had one, at least you wouldnt have to worry about anybody stealing it smile

No they're not, not the Gen2 at that price. Dec 2010 the new standard requirs Euro4 compliance and sub 100g/km. Existing owners with previously non CC cars can remain excempt until Dec2012 but change of ownership removes the exemption

As far as I know, there is no pre-73 exemption. Essentially, everything has to be under 100g/km CO2 to get it. Over 200 to choose from, listed here (click the link at the bottom to continue): http://www.carpages.co.uk/co2/co2-0-to-100-1.asp

I'd take the 500 Twinair of them any day. Else Golf or Prius if you want sensible and more spacious.

How narrow minded.

Some of us are bound by rules and regulations of company cars / car allowance which means our ideal car choice is not possible.

So, if we are having to resort to second best then we would at least like it to have some element of interest.

It may not be very PH to have an electric car or hybrid, but that doesn't always mean the person driving it has no interest in cars.

OP - does the 500 twinair fit the bill? Small and [I think] sub 100 co2's.
