Seeing Ben aka Pommehogster name his car Jessica, do others have a similar view or is your Aston just a souless hunk of metal?

Mine is definitely female, Elvira springs to mind. My OH's old Triumph Bonneville had Black Beauty on the plate.

Any others?..

My car is definitely not a soul-less hunk of metal, and I have bonded with it on a number of buttock-clenching occasions, but giving it a name?? No, no, no, way too sad.

Mind you, judging by other forums I'm a member of, I may be in the minority......

My OH has a theory that cars with illuminated sun visor mirrors are female; non-illuminated are male. By her definition, my Vantage is very much a male.

Over the years our cars have tended to be named after the Salesman who we have dealt with, as such we have had
a variant of names from Timothy to Dexter.

Sadly this trend has had the whistle blown on it only of last night as we dicussed names for my 2 daughters new cars,
which we collect after a long and sometimes flustrating wait today.

After listening to all their suggestions I put forward my conclusion in the family tried and trusted way only to be
told you can't call our cars.....Total *anker and Useless *astard.

Oh well there goes another family tradition.

Suggestions for the naming of the 2 Mini's on apost card please.......

Ours usually end up with a female name given by Mrs A based upon the letters in the registration.

Our Vantage's letters start with GG, hence Georgina

I refer to mine simply as 'The Aston', has a ring to it that 'Jemima' does not

Assigning gender to cars is sad imo. Do you call your home a male/female name or other material possessions?!
