Hi all,

Keith (Ditto) and I had a nice few days up at AW Tracksport this week, fitting lots of delicious parts to the GTW. Working from 07:30 to 22:00, we got a massive amount done (far more than we thought we would) and have come back feeling rather pleased with ourselves.

Thanks Ditto, couldn't have done it without you bow

Our best win of the week was the fit of the front clip from telcon instructions from Steve Smith. "Right First Time"...where have I heard that before!!!??

Next is Andy's gig with the help of his racecar Motec man then it's back up to give is a few hundred miles of 'bedding in' before taking it on track.

Here a few pics:

New improved engine bay with DEI Gold, fuel covers etc..

Camcoat exhaust...satin race black

Ground discs, new bolts, recoated wheels...

Steve Smith Carbon covered front splitter...

A rather dirty body....but you get the idea...

That'll keep me fed of things to think about until I get the call from AW Tracksport to say it's ready for testing.

Enjoy.....

Looks good. I really like the "big mouth" stylng. I do mean the front clip and not your aesthetic taste.

I also prefer the look of the headlights.

Is that a kink in the passenger-side exhaust manifold tube? Sorry, just jealous. smile

Ha! I see what you mean!! Is a bit brutal isn't it!?

The mouth will close up a bit with the rad and mesh in, but we are leaving the sides open, me thinks.

That's looking great. Are you putting the brake cooling ducts back?

No. Leaving them out. Looked a bit aggricultural to me. The air can go through theside at the front and out through the arch or slashes or side pod.

Yeah I know what you mean I think - the inside? Was thinking they'd be improved hugely with a layer of carbon.....

Nice front SS style and the brake vents close up a bit the massive mouth

Pete,
The result looks amazing but I'm quite sure that you will need to isolate the headers to protect the underhood temp. and more important the fuel rails as I did.
I covered my headers with Zircotec but the heat projection to the fuel rails was terrible. Problem was solved with Coolit tape and alu/gold barrier between headers and air intake section.

Cheers,
Javier

No insulation on your fuel lines? I see the GTW exhausts are further from the fuel rails that yours. That and the camcoat ceramic coating inside and out, I hope will keep trouble free.

Yes, I have all lines isolated. This picture is 6 months old. Hope you're right and let me know about the engine bay temp.
Be good !

Looking good! Certainly an impressive and well thought out build.

We would advise that you move the coil packs to somewhere cooler (the bulkhead is probably the best bet given the intake you have) as you will be inclined to cook the coils from the heat of the exhaust where they are at the moment. Heatshielding will help but it will inevitably reduce any cooling airflow you have to them.
