So a few weeks ago i started a thread about suitable venues for a 'special' birthday weekend/week away.

Followed up on quite a few suggestions but cut a long story short ended up booking a weekend in Seville.

Now it's been a while since I had to park at LHR. Add to that our flight is departing 0620hrs from T4 and we return to T3 late afternoon I'm after some good ideas re. parking. At the moment it seems T4 long-term and just bus it back to T4 on return...PITA. Anybody got a better suggestion particularly bearing in mind we'll be parking up around 05.00hrs in the morning?

Book online well in advance, I've had some really good deals fo the short-term car parks. Just walking distance from the terminal so no waiting around for the bus!!

+1 for this. I've done this frequently & it's really convenient.

Thanks for the suggestions. Purple Parking is > £70 and no meet and greet before 5a.m.

Doesn't look like there are any special deals with the short-term carpark at T4. The best is Business Parking across the road next to the long-term carpark.

Best meet and greet though looks like Drivefly at about £42 which runs from 4a.m and solves the problem of returning to T3.

Waits for the 'you should have seen what they did to my car when I used them' posts. Of course, if there are any replies in that vain I'll have to think again!

Another vote for Purple Parking - even if they don't have valet collection at that time.

Have used them on many occasions with no problems. Seem very secure.

Purple parking is > £70 for a weekend? Returned last week from an 18 day trip, and that was £67.

I always allow 30 mins or so from arriving at car park to arrivals. T5 takes a bit longer than the other terminals.

For a short trip, the on-site car parks may be easier.

I booked on weds this week with Purple Parking. £38 Saturday to Wednesday. I thought that was damned cheap! 15 min bus transfer to the terminals.

The long stay car park for T4 is excellent as it is so close to the terminal. The transfer is very quick, however that doesnt help if you are coming back in to T3!

If going for valet parking use one named on the BAA site as they will be goaranreed to be legit.

To close this and following my reply to the other similar thread DriveFly were spot on even though in the end my flights ended up departing and returning to T3. Based on that one experience I'd recommend them particularly as their prices seem significantly better than others.

On a side note, when we dropped off on Friday morning there was a young lady looking for Secure Parking. Apparently they've had problems since being featured on Watchdog. I hope she got her flight OK
