Claiming for Window Repair. NCB Question

autoglass etc are always advertising that if you get a windscreen chip repaired with them it will not affect you No Claims Bonus (NCB); however, if i do make a claim for a repair and then decide to change insurers next year do I have to declare that i have made a claim in the last 5 years? if so will this make me a higher risk customer and how will this claim affect my renewal?

I just had a new windscreen and checked this with my insurance company (Admiral). They assured that it doesn't count as a claim and doesn't affect your NCB.
