SMAX "Alarm system service required"

Hello, I bought an S Max (privately) a few weeks ago and the following message is popping up from time to time on the dash - "Alarm system service required".

From a quick google it appears to be some kind of common ford bug, there is no other electrical problems and the alarm seems to work okay - any help/ideas/advice appreciated.

Also it needs new rear discs and pads - any recommendations as to cheaper/better option than genuiner ford parts?
