What are the legalities of walking up to a river bank and taking a duck with you.
Will you get arrested?

There are reasons for this question but they are confusing so it's probably best not to ask.

Cheers,
Bob

The Countryside and Wildlife Act 1981 makes it an offence to intentionally kill, injure, or take any wild bird. There are exceptions, however, laid out in Schedule 2 of the Act, so that outside the close season, you can take Tufted duck, Gadwall, Goldeneye, Mallard, Pintail, Pochard, Shoveler, Teal and Wigeon.
It's half ten, some bloke in a pub just offered you a 'duck', didn't they?

No, rowing club.

We were thinking of sneaking up on a sleeping duck.
