Steam Cleaners - Worth Bothering With.....
Discussion
Hello PH.
I have ''Wetroom'' - type batheroom which I am sure looked lovely the day it was finished.
However, now, the walls, which are mosaic from Ceiling to very nearly floor, and blighted by mould and grime, from the bottom to about 80cm up.
Before people cry ''need more ventilation and heat'' the towel rail is always on and this makes it the warmest room in the house, despite the fact that the window is permanently open too!
I am sick of cleaning the grout with bleach and a toothbrush.
I accidently watched an ad' on QVC (other shopping channels are avialble) for a steam cleaner. Despie the fact that in the laughable demo, the ''Disgusting Grime'' could have been remove with a slow stream of cold water, nothing more, it got me wondering whether or not I should invest in such a device...
Do they actually clean grout up?
I am sure I could find a myriad of other tasks for this kit if necessary, but it's primary function would be to keep on top of this mould, mould which appraently, laughs in the face of neat bleach.
Do any of you have one? what does it do and what are the limitations....
Thanks in advance - Nico.

we have got a bosch one that we use at work - i took it home and tried some tiles with the 'direct' nozzle.
It did seem to work, albeit slowly - however it definately stayed cleaner for longer after.
It was great on all the shower head jets, and around the jacuzzi jets etc.
Wall paper strippers are more powerful than our trade steamer and quite cheap, wonder if you could bodge a direct nozzle for one...

Inetersting you say it's good on shower heads - Did you mean on limescale specifically? our water is Mega hard....
I've just been perusing the Currys site and saw this...

Seems to be supplied with a plethora of nozzles including a brush which might be just the job....
Thanks - Nick.
we dont really get limescale - but blasted off the crud that gathers inbetween and around the rubber nozzle bits, and especially cleaned the gunk out of the whirlpool nozzles.
If its not a lot then go for it - its been used for other things like cleaning my bike carb and plastic playhouse!
