unless Honda's suffer from some fuel tank issue that I'm unaware of?

So if I had the same car but I never let mine go below 1/2 tank would it be worth more? Yes - because its got a 1/4 of a tank more fuel in it!

My Dad says this about his car, he reckons that if you let the fuel get too low then sediment from the tank could damage your engine. I don't believe it myself, I always run mine until there's only fumes left.

You'd think the car manufacturers would do something about this kind of problem wouldn't you?

And even then, where does the fuel pickup reside regardless of how much fuel is in the tank?

Exactly.

A load of BS this smile

I don't care about any of the spec details after engine size, gearbox, and whether it's got leather or not. What matters is the service history, cambelt etc, any restoration. I can't believe people detail the fog lights and time-delay rear washer-wipe but don't mention whether it's been serviced in the last 8 years.

First to see will buy

small fault but quick cheap repair

only costs £XXX to insure

MOT man says it's the best he's ever seen

low mileage for year (-no mileage given-)

'surface' rust

probably the cheapest for sale in the UK

will beat XXX off the lights

The earlier models of the Rover 75 / MG ZT diesel have 2 fuel pumps, one in-tank and one under bonnet. If one fails, the other one is stressed, often resulting in that failing too. Usually the in-tank one is first to go, and the general opinion is that failure is due to lack of lubrication. So it's recommended that you don't let the fuel level run too low, thereby keeping the pump lubricated at all times.

Could be a similar issue on the Civic I guess. Not heard of anything specific though.
