It'd only delete your profile. All your posts and threads would still remain anyway.

Not strictly true we have the ability to remove all posts, but not quoted posts.

Apart from issues of posting public comments about your employers, why would you want to delete your account from any service? Just don't use it. There are plenty of websites I no longer visit and just stopped visiting.
