A1 Canvas prints - Ebay vs alternatives?

Hiya,
currently after a couple of prints of this size to finish a bit of house decoration and theres a massive cost difference between the ebay sellers and places like printitoncanvas. I've used printitoncanvas before and the results have been great, but the ebay description sounds like the same product (fade resistant inks, pine stretcher bars etc etc) but half the price!

Can anyone shed a little more light on whether its likely to be a case of cutting corners or just different profit margins?

I've just received one from 'youframe' and frankly it's rubbish, but then what do I expect for £20

I've now narrowed it down to Photobox for prints, Apple for books, Tim at Fluid images for Canvas and Whitewall for big stuff

Never disspointed, and MILES better than photobox (quality and price) for canvas prints.

Lucky you. Ordered a couple from him unwrapped, but kept them in the tube until we moved house. Upon opening one of them had a patch of the coating/lacquer missing.

Given it had been a fair while since purchase (probably should have checked closer upon delivery, but his first bunch had been spot-on), instead of asking Tim to replace it I asked if instead he'd do me a discount if I ordered a bunch more (5 or 6 in total). He said he'd do me a good deal, and make sure one of the canvasses was free.

His "good deal" price came back at exactly his published rate on his website, ignoring the 10% discount he's currently offering on there.

So I can only assume he has plenty of business and doesn't need to try. Won't be using him again, as he pushed it a bit on price last time I ordered from him.



One of the other photography forums seems to rate "tradecanvasprints" for service and quality - their prices are cheaper than Tim's too.

I notice that the prices are less than fluid images, don't suppose you've compared the prints directly?

Well, having compared the prices and reviews of various places I ended up using printitoncanvas again @ just over £50 apiece. Seem to be about the mid point in pricing and the prints I've had before have been great - although to be fair I don't intend to pull them out in 75 years and perform an in depth colour analysis.

I have as I used to use Fluid Images and now use edition canvas. Think that says it all and I'm surprised that more people don't use edition canvas as they're top notch

It may be the somewhat complicated way of sending them the images and payment, fluid images seem to be much more simple.
I am cheap though, so I've sent my pics to Edition.
