Hello

This is my first post on the forum, however have been reading on hear for ages and have to say found some fantastic advice about buying a Vantage V8, also bought the Definitive Guide book which was brillaint.

Anyway I picked up my Vantage V8 this week and so far I am absolutely amazed with the car....and what a sound it produces.

However when I turned on the car yesterday I get a warning message thats says "SRS Air Bag Service Urgent".

My question is why would this light be on? The car has just been serviced by Aston Martin, so if an air bag service was due wouldn't they of done it?

Obvisouly going to called Aston on Monday morning but wondering if the car is ok to drive e.g. Air bag is not going ot suddenly go bang when I am driving.

Any advice would be great.

Kind Regards
ScottK

Hi the reason the warning has shown is that a fault has been detected in the system the terminology used does give the wrong impression as it is not an overdue service warning, and now the system has been disabled, so in he event of an accident the airbags would not be triggered, do not worry they will not go off inadvertently either, it will require a code read to see what the issue is, it may just need a recalibration or reset, has the wheel alignment just been done, or could be a sensor or connection fault,

Or your battery is about to die. First My car had a bad airbag sensor had to be replaced and then the light came back and I had to replace the battery on my 06 vantage.

Don't worry Scott, the Dealer will fix it toute de suite for you.

I have this theory that they leave little timed gremlins in the system so that you need to pop back in to see them from time to time.

It's called relationship building biggrin

Thank you for your replies.

I have spoken to HWM in Walton on Thames (local dealer but still 30 miles away) and they said I need to book the car in, so it's booked in on Thursday. Was hoping it would be a quick drive in and check for fault codes and be off again.

Hopefully nothing expensive, but guess I will see good the warranty is supplied with the vehicle.
