V5C help

Hi

I need some advise on the V5C procedure if possible. Previously I have only bought cars privately so I know how that works. However yesterday I bought a car from a dealer. He gave me the V5C document with section 9 missing (the selling or transferring to dealer section). My question is do I now fill in section 6 and sign section 8 and send it to the DVLA ? if so then who signs the 'Regestered keeper' par of section 8 ? The name on the V5C is the previous owners, not the garage.

Any help would be appreciated.

You should only have section 10?
You use that to tax the car if you need to or in case anything happens before the new registration doc turns up
The dealer should have sent off section 8 with your signature on it

He hasnt signed it at all. Should I just scribble a signiture on his side and thern sign it myself and send away ?

Now I understand
The previous keeper should have signed sec 6 it but it's confusing as they will have signed section 9 before giving the whole thing to the Dealer.
If you just sign section 6 and the new keeper bit of seection 8 it should be ok (and keep some copies)
Anyone else done this?
