Strange world we live in nowadays, when an 18-year-old can buy a car as old as he is, and it still looks reasonably up-to-date.

I couldn't have done that when I was 18!

In all seriousness, I could not recommend these cars enough. Even a NA MR2 would surely be a fantastic driving experience, but grabbing a Japanese Turbo is a great move for anyone who wants a stunning performance car. And I'd definitely recommend a short shifter kit, mine has the best gear change of any car I've driven. It knocks the famouns MX5 gear change into a cocked hat.

It's not really much of a GT, far too noisy, cramped and uncouth. The Japanese GTS Rev 3 comes with 241hp out of the box, enchanced with a short shifter kit, makes for a stunning drive, with bags of power. More than enough for a great day on the road or track!

Mind you, it depends on what your definition of a performance car is. If you're restricting that term for use applying to million dollar Hypercars, then no, it's not a performance car. But if you're using the term to refer to a fast, RWD, mid-engined two seater sports car then it is more than appropriate. I certainly don't think you could either describe or drive it and come to any other conclusion than to suggest it is indeed a performance car. That said, such pedantry is useless and meaningless, simply because it doesn't change the fact that it's a stunning performance car.

The rev 3 was a second, (ish), quicker to 60 I think. Still, for a 10-20 year old car to have those figures, and be a bargain at the same time, tis a quality car. One of the comfiest as well!

Being 18 n all, how are you doing this?

On a trailer to the track or are you insuring it and things for road use as well?

Hows that working out cost wise?
