I wonder if the local council will be doing anything about this contempt for the planning laws?...

Garden sheds and garages transformed into dodgy homes for immigrants - are not from the slums of Mumbai. Incredibly, they are from a west London suburb.

According to The Sun, the sheds in Southall have been built by rogue landlords who are cashing in on newcomers to the country.
They are completely hidden from view from the street and are a clear breach of strict planning laws.

Mass immigration - worse thing that ever happened to this country.

Had them for years in Slough. Council are now taking action against them, I hear.

Working on a house in Luton recently (near the big B&Q), I noticed that most of the houses in the street had extensive garden sheds, with a great number of people coming and going out of them.

I reckon there's more of this going on than they're letting on.

There was a program on TV a few years back about Slough.

There are so many illegals living there, it was unbelievable.

Go see the problem at Dale Farm when you try and enforce the law, it will be just another bunch of idiots who will shout about it being racist.

Sad but true. You see loads of these around. As someone else said, these make a mockery of the census.

EXACTLY.

In the same vein they won't do anything about the thousands of illegal 'corner shops', import/export VAT fraud businesses, dodgy car hire 'establishments' or the politics in Tower Hamlets that would shame politicians in the protagonists home country of Bangladesh. All because a blind eye has been turned for far too long, and to crack down on it now would cause far too much of an outcry.

The rot has spread far too far.

I would think that legally the case for them not blocking access to the garages - there will undoubtedly be an easment - is a strong as any other planning consideration.

Converted garages. I guess that with the outrageous house prices we have in the UK, it makes sense to make the best of the space you have.

depends on the context - was she brought up round there or was she from the north?

in either case it's understandable
