Fiat Qubo Trekking - any opinions
Discussion
Hi all,
we are looking at a Fiat Qubo for Mrs Orse to replace her Toyota Urban Cruiser when I take that over to save cash for the weekend car.Ideally the new one would be 4x4 of some sort like the Toyota although I appreciate its abilities are limited it does give some extra ability in the snow etc.
Anyway the Qubo in its Trekking guise with the 1.3 95bhp td engine has taken the eye as a cheap, cheap to run and practical car which will also be good for the surfing kit,dog etc.We were told it was 4x4 but its not.It does come with mud and snow tyres and has a trick traction control to help out in bad conditions which may be enough given the only time the 4x4 would be relevant would be to get her home from work in the snow before conditions got too bad.
So I was wondering if anyone had one or had any thoughts about them.
All opinions welcome.
Thanks.

May not be relevant, but we run a couple of Fiat Doblo vans at work, and they have both broken in similar ways, suggesting regular weaknesses.
From the small stuff, like the door check straps pulling themselves out of the door pillar, to larger issues like the gear linkage snapping off the gearstick, rendering it undriveable. Both snapped in exactly the same places on both vans.
One of them has just decided that its electric window doesn't need to be in the runner any more, and requires strong manual correction to locate it properly.
Also might be worth searching for problems with the 1.3 engine, as I have seen some interesting stories around and about.
I ran a Multipla for a couple of years, and found it to be a fair amount of hassle too.
