smallest 7 seater
Discussion
A friend is looking to replace her Renault scenic. She wants something with seven seats and an S-Max is too big. She's looking at a Citroën Picasso but as it's basically the same as a Scenic which my wife had and I hated with a passion is there anything else? Ideally not French.

Zafira?
VW Touran?
New 7-seat Ford C-Max
Multipla (6 seats)
Mazda 5 (6+1 seats)
The problem with these mid-size people carriers is that the rearmost seats are only fit for small kids, so if she intends keeping it a long time and using the rearmost seats, she will need to get used to a slightly bigger car and learn to park. The difference between a large and medium MPV is only about 30cm in length, (which = a standard school ruler) and all but poverty-spec will have parking sensors, so it's no big deal having a slightly larger car.
I would avoid the Volvo v70 - terrible turning circle, so not easy to manoeuvre.

I've recommended the Multipla, any thoughts on how good the Mazda is?VW Touran?

Unless it's going to be a Defender then 'small' and '7-seater' are mutually exclusive. Plus, if I had the need for a 7 seater then there's no way I would be putting my kids in what was designed to be the boot of a small estate car.
If she's taken the decision to overbreed then sorry but she'll have to get used to having a bigger car.
Otherwise, have a look at the Qashqai +2
