I'm looking to stick winter tyres on my wifes B-Class and just wondered if anyone has done this and can provide any feedback?
The car is a 150 Sport so sits on 17" 215x45 profile tyres.
Although it's front wheel drive, a combination of the low profile tyres and lack of engine weight means it's nothing special in poor conditions hence I'm looking at winter tyres. It's not bad, but it could be better.
Mercedes have an offer of 4 16" alloys with Dunlop winter tyres (205x55) for £799 fitted including 1 years storage.
Looking at the cost second hand 16" alloys on e-bay then adding 4 new winter tyres makes this seem like a great deal considering I'm getting 4 brand new Merc alloys etc.

Thoughts and opinions would be most welcome.
Thanks.

It's quite expensive - however they're looking hard to source now, so that might be a good bet.

We had a B180 and the only reason for getting rid was it's appaling snow performance . Ours had the Sport pack with 45 profile tyres , but the main problem was the traction control which cut in so early and could'nt be turned off . Snow tyres won't help much I wouldn't have thought . My C class AMG was much more convincing in the white stuff last year ....
