got this delorean im working on , it was more of toy than a model with lots of innacuracies etc that im slowly working through fixing

got to align the doors today and they fit terrible , they rely on a small tab under the door card to snap into a hole on the sill and its not accurate/tight enough to hold the door tighly shut and in the same place every time

im out of ideas really , no room that i can see for magnets , maybe stuff a washer or two behind the door card and let gravity hold it shut?

any ideas welcome

You can get some small yet very powerful magnets these days. They're small enough that you can embed them intoa panel, fill in the resulting hole, and be completely invisible. Probably find some in about ten seconds if you search the interweb!

any idea if a really small say 1 or 2mm at each end would make it snap shut , id also like to know how close they need to be before they pull

Do a search for "Neodymium Rare Earth Magnets". I've used them before and they are incredibly strong. If you were to use a 4mm diameter one against a steel pad in the door, I think you would find it difficult to open the door at all by hand.

ETA They come in cylindrical and cube shapes among other things.

If you want to be realistic glue it shut and blame it on electrical problems.
