Spraying internal doors?

Anybody had any experience with spraying internal doors, standard paneled 'wooden' doors as fitted to most modern builds? Just figured it would give a better finish & maybe be less hassle than brush painting though I guess the prep would have to be better?

Is it even possible to spray oil based paints (satin gloss), a mate who sprays cars reckons it could be done if he heated the paint first?

Ive tried it - wasnt a success. I now use a mini roller, which gets the job done.
