Eco Bulbs "Equivalent to" Who Makes This Stuff Up ?

Ok so I'll admit I was dubious but I bought a security / flood light low energy bulb that was "Equivalent to" 500W.

So I installed it and I'd suggest that as I now can't see a fraction of what I could see with my 300W bulb that it is perhaps equivalent to 25W which is in fact what it consumes.

So who exactly makes this stuff up ?

If it doesn't illuminate anything like as well, how exactly is it equivalent ?

Give it about an hour to warm up.... But by then some scrote will have had off with your tv..

Leave it on permanently to deal with the warm up issue.

I'd suggest getting twenty or so of them, that should make it nice and bright.

Oh yes it takes about 5mins to warm up - not a problem as I was intending leaving it on all night to illuminate my building site.

Good news is I can happily do so without fear of annoying the neighbours.

In my garden about 20m from the house my dirt bike is parked up.

With my 300w I can clearly see it with the Eco version I can only just see the reflection of the rear plate !

It's great when something simple, cheap and effective is replaced by something complicated, expensive and worse. Good old E fking U.

Sadly the industry seems rife with these claims. One of the challenges we face as an LED light manufacturer is trying to explaun what is what to people looking to embrace the tech or to annoyed people that have shelled out for below par goods and are pissed off about it!
