Where the dickens are the new exiges? A friend of mine has one on order and keeps getting told 'manyana' by lotus. Does anyone know what the hold up is? Or has anyone got hold of a customer car yet? If so let me know and I'll pass the info on to him.

I think they're working flat out to deliver cars to the USA at the moment... to the detriment of the dealers who have people queing up to buy new 111S, 111R and Exiges! Castle Lotus told me that delivery of a new 111S made to order would probably be October/November!

That's just no good! I have been doing a bit of searching around for info as I'm considering an exige as the next play car..... I don't want to have to wait that long! Maybe I should stick with TVR after all?!

No, don't be put off! Talk to dealers, and I'm sure they can find you a way to get you going much faster than that.

I was dead set on a sagaris, but PPS's elise has made me have a few thoughts. Excellent fun BUT (as I always say to her) underpowered. The new Exige as featured on top gear looked a whole heap of fun despite the fact I would rather have the helicopter... more suitable for the M1 . The crux is that I think I am exige bound, if they'll do it in red for me.

Bonce - will you having a birthday during PFest this year?

cheers

The hold up is that although lotus design almost perfect cars, i doubt if they could manage to put together an airfix kit and finish it in time. My buying experience was completely ruined after my car didn't turn up several times. I ended up talking to the head of sales who wasn't much use, and in the end i actually had to speak to somebody on the production line to find out where my car was. Totally unacceptable! Lotus really need to address this issue as i'm sure their sales are suffering because of it. There are many cars around at dealers but as far as i am aware most of them are sold, and they can’t be replaced as lotus can't supply them. Stop sending them all to America !

WH: Sadly, I won't be at PF this year. Have a beer for me!

Good luck getting the car you want! Do they do the Exige in red?

in australia at lease, old english white, ardent red and saffron yellow are standard exige S2 colours. Bordeaux red is an optional metallic...

Lotus have almost never managed to get a new model shipping in volume as quickly as we'd all like

Some of the dealers are shifting on their demo cars and taking delivery of new ones though. If you could find one specced as you like that might be the way to do it. Also I know Wilsons have pre-ordered a load. Perhaps one might be destined for earlier delivery.

I know Wilsons have had a few delivered, a Chrome Orange one came in just over a week ago, and was sold the next day. They admitted that they had ordered quite a few, so more should be coming through soon.

Try Christopher Neil, they have a couple of brand new ones in at the mo too.

Will do, and happy birthday for whatever date it is ( I couldn't work out what planet it was last year )

I don't think the are doing them in red but I may be able to persuade them I reckon

Well, I know Westover have a demo car, because I've got it for the day tomorrow! And they do sell their demos as they sold the 111R I was going to drive.

Andy Baker over on SELOC has had his Chrome Orange one a few weeks now - checked it out last night - very nice and well put together.

I think Wilsons Lotus in Romford have quite a fey they pre-ordered so give them a call if you want one

nope - his is brand new, with EVERY extra...and a spare set of 111R wheels (for road use) ...must have cost him a bob or two ! ...V nice though - the build quality is another step up from the older S2s ...shame about the weight (960Kg with full options?) ...it would need 300bhp for me to be interested...particularly as it probably cost the same as a nice 2nd hand Noble.

Super colour for those that want to make descrete progress sun picks out the metallic beautifully to give a very rich deep blue

My thinking and something I'm on the verge of doing, although I've had an invite in principle from Wayne the Vauxhall chappy to testdrive the VXR press car when he gets it in shortly.

Noble might be an insurance problem for me. Tesco claim they won't cover me as I don't have 2 years no claims discount I can put on the policy. Sounds fishy though as I know others who have their cover.

Try Cheam or Frizzells - we just had the same problem with Sarah trying to insure the Tuscan - she has only 1 year NCB and Tesco said the same - both Cheam and Frizzell came in £500 cheaper than Tesco too.
