Don't laugh, I'll post pics once all is done and dusted and you may understand...

But typically when fitting racing stripes along the length of a vehicle bonnet/roof etc which side are they fitted, the driver's or passenger's?

Drivers. I thought the whole point of them originally was to show which side the driver was on.

Which is why they infuriate me on cars like said Clios!

Renault works Clio Gordinis were all left hand drive, hence they are on the right side, which is the left side.

Yes and it makes no sense. A B-C stripe goes down the middle:-

If you're going to bastardise it then do what you want.

Indeed the title says "Offset", but since when has that made any difference on PH? wink

I was thinking they look pretty good down the centre, personally.

Well I would have thought that a corvette owner would have some sort of respect for american racing history but I guess that the rolling eyes means not. Your 'photo is a good example of what I was saying: the owner has chosen not to follow the convention of twin stripes down the middle so has done what he wants. Whether you think that looks good/better or whatever is another matter altogether.

You do realize that Vipers ACR come out of factory like that? And funnily enough ACR stands for American Club Racing biggrin
Do Dodge people "bastardise" it too?

Left side, regardless of the side the driver sits. It's a bit like getting an ear pierced, there is a gay side and a straight side wink

Thanks for all the advice. Central stripes may not look quite right on this vehicle. I'll let you know how it all pans out. Picking up the forced induction 5 cylinder German tomorrow wink
