Generic Supercar Generator Project... New Results

Genty Akylone 'arrives' with 1000bhp and 220mph, if not more!

Somewhere, deep in the bowels of a former cold war nuclear bunker in central Europe, the IAAEW (International Association of Auto-Enthusiast Websites)-funded Generic Supercar Generator Project (GSGP) continues to spew out new car stories.

As our IAAEW membership agreement contracts us to publish all GSGP content, we have no option but to share the news that the Genty Akylone is a new French supercar project featuring a twin-turbocharged 4.8 litre V8 boasting in excess of 1000bhp and 940lb ft of torque, mounted in a carbon fibre and aluminium chassis.

Weighing-in at 1100kgs, the rear drive Akylone is thus capable (we're told) of topping 220mph and reaching 62mph on 2.7secs. Impressive stuff, and if the plans go forward the company hopes to sell just 15 examples to people who buy this sort of stuff, at prices that haven't been announced.

But hold on... what's this? This is no rendering job from a bunch of 'wannabes' trying their luck - there's a video and everything!

Seriously, as supercar concepts go, this one doesn't look too bad does it? Let's hope that one day it does turn its wheels in anger.

On the basis that it does look like they have generated a generic supercar, I'd sat this is a success! biggrin

Nothing offensive about it, what's not to like (apart from a virtual interior)?

I'm seeing Saleen, Koensigsegg, MP4-12C (rear), and a hint of SSC Aero.

I'd like to see something more unique, but there have been plenty of uglier concepts.

Akylone speak out as, A Clone? biggrin
anyway, the car and specs looks very nice, although the interior I would like a bit more classic sporty look.

Not bad looking imo. Video was a bit "Need For Speedy" though.

Ha ha, I like the text. Another supercar that looks a bit like a McLaren F1, another 4-figure power output, and another price tag for that rare group of individuals that are both mentally ill and extremely wealthy.

Looks nice, but is it's about as relevant as the weather on Jupiter.

+1 Definately some 'artistic influence' going on there . . .

Looks good!

0-62mph in 2.7 secs ! That's 1.05g acceleration, not bad for rear wheel drive only! Do you have to do a burnout, and then dose the tyres with bleach before you launch it?

The Caparo T1 already exceeds this I believe.

The Caparo manages it already and a few more "normal" supercars get close.

It's a shame web space is given to non-existent companies like this. I remember reading a comment on another site saying the company hq is in a field in the middle of nowhere according to Google maps.

Can imagine the supercar fruit machine dials spinning round to generate this laugh

Still though, doesn't look all that bad at all. I mean, it could've been far worse...

If this project doesn't get off the ground and into production what happens to the car they have made? there must be loads of concepts out there that never make it to market.

Nice computer graphics, though hardly up to Pixar standards.
