Fancy a (long) road trip?
Discussion
Google Maps just gave me a route to drive from Bangkok to London. It used to say you couldn't go into Burma. So this is a good change. Of course the Burmese junta is still there so the drive itself is impossible.
13,946km, 7 days and 7 hours.
Longest I can find from London is Cape Town, at 15,528km.
Is anyone else feeling so utterly unproductive and wasteful that they'll try and beat that?

No. But here's another question.
On either of those two trips, what would be your chosen vehicle?
.On either of those two trips, what would be your chosen vehicle?
Land Cruiser LC3 (2003 to 2008)
Coily springs, not the newer active suspension.
Economical, reliable mile muncher.

I read a lot about this on some the overland forums.
The LC3, is Toyotas most economical Land Cruiser, 30 mpg no problem.
BF Goodrich All Terrains, the spare wasn't even used.

Not the longest trip, but certainly demanding.... http://www.pekingparis.com/index.html

Google's navigation engine is clearly not up to scratch! It definitely is possible, I did it back in 2009! (and then a little bit further) ...

Fantastic, I would love to do something like that!!!! You must have got some pretty strange comments with a UK numberplate through some of those countries.
