Wanted one ever since I was 14 and when I turned 21 I finally bought it, nearly bought a porsche boxster but didnt have the power of the evo.
Taken the cats out and is running circa 300 bhp got a rolling road day with the mlr on the 29th so will find out exactly then.
a few pics :P

The previous owner had spent thousands on it.
Running costs, erm arnt too bad...
im getting not bad fuel consumption on average 20mpg but managed to squeeze 30 mpg out it on a run down the borders yesterday cruising at 60 mph and then a bit of hooning on the back roads.
Not many plans for it in the future, tint the windows perhaps and get one of my plates put on the car, and get driver training.

Very nice :-) is the 260 model? 300BHP is impressive from those simple mods!
Always fancied an Evo but could never find a good insurance quote so ended up with a GT4, even now @ 22 I'm finding it hard to get a 'reasonable' quote.
If you don't mind telling (fully understand if you do) could you say how much you are paying for insurance? guessing its fully comp etc?
Cheers

That was what put me off an Evo, I had considered getting one but the AYC servicing and the insurance put me off. Of all the 4WD cars I was looking at (Impreza WRX, Lancer Evolution XIs, Celica GT4 ST205 and Sierra Coworths) the Lancer was the most expensive to insure. I test drove an Evo VIII last year and it was quite incredible, though I was concerned that I wouldn't get as much enjoyment from it on a daily commute as I might from another car, balanced about the high costs. In the end, I decided on the Celica GT4 as the insurance quotes were quite good for me (at 23 years old) and it offered some decent performance. The fact it had been mentioned as a credible alternative to an Escort Cosworth (without the massive price) was also attractive.Always fancied an Evo but could never find a good insurance quote so ended up with a GT4, even now @ 22 I'm finding it hard to get a 'reasonable' quote.

I then realised I hadn't considered an even more bonkers alternative of the MR2 Turbo, which really appealed. I was sucked in by the RWD, mid-engined configuration, which makes for an incredible drive even off turbo, but when the turbo kicks in the speed it can generate is incredible. That said, I suspect a 4WD rally rep will be on the cards, sooner or later!

Would have one of these in a second if insurance wasn't half the cost of the car!!
Nice car though mate, EK shopping centre as well?
That said, the Civic in your profile is great looking car too, and those EP3's are fantastic. I wouldn't be too jealous if I had a Civic Type R as I love them! Nice car though mate, EK shopping centre as well?

WAS fantastic, met its demise on a diesel spill early 2010 and now in a 1.25 fiesta until the new year!! Just never got round to changing the picture lolMastodon2 said:
Awesome Evo, looks a bit odd with the small spoiler but nowhere near as bad as de-spoilered Evos do. Despoilering the lives of Evos, Imprezas, Skylines etc should be made criminal, they look appalling! The wheels looks pretty good too.
You think? i love the look of de spoilered Impreza's.^^ that without the yellow headlights and daft angled bonnet is lush.

and I also like those wheels :P They suit your evo than they do with my car :/
