I did ask on my other thread but thought I'd start a new to see what everyone is doing.

What's the general concensus with these? Use them or not?

Graham (Hollowpockets) says he does use them but the last post I read recommended running with none, so what to do?

Cheers.

I had major headaches trying to stop mine from leaking then I read on here about the good quality ones from Nissan. Fitted a set with decent copper nuts and I've not had any problems since!

Another vote for the Nissan ones. Use good quality locking nuts and you wont have a problem!

I've had one broken, replaced by Nissan one, dirt cheap and they feel really good quality smile

But needs some time to fit ; my mechanic has put new copper bolts & nuts (M12 iso M13) as well smile

Does anyone have a part number for these Nissan gaskets? Also I need the rectangular ones for the manifold-turbo and head-manifold (which I'm guessing are standard Ford?)

Manifold to head gasket
Ford 4503102

Turbo gaskets
Nissan 1441517m00 (inlet)
Nissan 1444579e00 (outlet)

Much better than the std tat they came with but they're not cheap!

Just to confirm - these are for 3R standard turbos? I'm being told they relate to T28s not T25s.

Same unit for gaskets , the only difference between T28 and T25 is internaly the manifolds and exhaust system used are the same . Tux

Well that's what I thought too but Nissan have 2 part numbers for each and the numbers quoted above are for T28.

I guess it doesn't matter so long as they fit!

I got the numbers from my invoices for the gaskets I bought and I have T25's on a GTO3 so you should be fine.

The Nissan exhaust manifold gaskets are great, you guys should also look at using the locking plates, pretty sure the Pulsar Gti-R used them.

These along with gaskets, and crimp nuts, and you will not have to worry about any leasks! smile

In the US, these are part # 14495-17F00, not sure if they cross over.

You're not kidding there!

I just priced these up and they come in at £79.97 for 2 inlet and 2 outlet! eek

Just also spoke to Graham at Universal Turbos - they acknowledge that there used to be problems with them blowing but say that they have not been aware of any for a while with the metal shim gaskets that they supply with their turbos.

Anyone have experience with these?

Regards

Graham
