Thinking of a road trip some time next year, somewhere different. And so, might whizz up to Denmark.

Does anyone know of any interesting villages/towns/cities which should be on the 'must visit' list ?

At least now you can drive around Denmark as the bridges are all finished. You can even drive to Sweden and keep going? Been to Denmark twice, its small, very clean, efficient, good roads, good standard of living but VERY expensive. Not much to say about Denmark? other than there are a lot of more interesting places in Europe.

Mmm, if it's that boring, maybe I should find a different destination.

There are no interesting roads in Denmark. There aren't that many in Sweden, though there is some scenery to take in. Norway is better. Otherwise head further south - Black Forest, Ardennes etc are lovely, as are the Vosges.

Hmm, not sure you've been given good advice here. If you want roads that you can hoon around, then Denmark is not for you, because speed limits tend to be low. If you want a pretty and interesting country to visit, where the cost of living is similar to the UK (although booze is more expensive) then look at visiting some of the following places:
the dunes at Rubjerg Knude
the beach at Lokken (+ plenty of other beaches in N.Jutland)
Skagen
Aarhus
Ebeltoft
Djursland & Mols
Copenhagen
Helsingor

There are plenty of other places to visit, for which I suggest you consult a guidebook. If you go in the last 2 weeks of August, Danish kids are back at school and accomodation prices become fairly cheap - we rented a 4-bed villa with indoor pool + sauna + jacuzzi for 2 weeks at the same price a pretty basic 3-bed villa with outdoor pool in France cost for one week, in the same period.
