I have white flecks of black paint all over the front wing and door of my black car. Some careless workmen on my neighbours house have splattered it - pretty annoyed as you can imagine!

What is the best way to get them off without damaging the car body paint? They are very small white flecks, pin head size generally. They come off if I scratch at them with my fingernail. However there are hundreds all over the front wing, half the bonnet and both doors on one side, presumably where the wind has carried the paint.

I read clay bar might work - does that remove the car paint surface as well, therefore requiring waxing/re-protecting some how?

Any advice very welcome.
thanks

Clay bar is the best bet to start with. It'll pull the contaminents off the surface, but yes, you'll want to put something on afterwards to protect it.

I am sure there is a specialist product available for this. But I would be having a word with my neighbour first

I've used thinners which worked fine, flame suit on! Don't do this to fresh paint and remember to wax / polish the area after.

Autosmart Tardis, followed by use of a Clay bar but only if Tardis doesn't shift it... Certainly should do! Available for about £15 for a 5L bottle from your local Autosmart Rep.

Is it gloss or emulsion? I used a clay bar when the chuckle brothers sprayed next doors fence - fence paint had pooled on the roof mad Still finding spots on the plastic and rubber trim.

Even better suggestion, pop round and ask for their public liability insurance details. If it's a decent car I would want it properly detailed by somewhere like KDS Keltec.
