Hi,

Bought myself a 205 GTI 1.9 this week and it needs some work. Thinking of popping over to Constella in Shepshed, Leicestershire. Anyone had any dealings with them.

Main points are that I need some trim, tyres, airfilter is a mess, squeek from the rear on cornering, slight oil leak and some rust. Thought I'd see how they are and if they could do some of the work I can't do myself.

Thanks,

Pest

Sounds like the rear suspension needs a rebuild hence squeaking.
The other jobs are straight forward to fix.

Have registered on there, waiting for approval. The squeek was the tyre on body by all accounts, went to a couple of garages today to get an idea of cost. Both were really helpful but can't know for sure till it's taken apart.

Ok. Squeak could be missing bump stop. They rust off but are easy to replace. The forum will have all the answers.
Enjoy!

Tyre on body will be rear bearings unfortunately.

I've been told it possibly needs a new rear axle but can't tell until it's apart then it's too late to put back together so will be committed.

Think I'll have to take the plunge if I'm going to keep it.

Take your time , dont rush into anything , get on the 205 forum and slowly work through your list of issues.

You will have your pants pulled down rushing into things.

Are you local to Constella?

I'm in Leicester so just up the road really. There's another place that I will more than likely use thought as it's by Leicester city centre.
