GROWL - Dates confirmed - 8th/10th June 2012

Self explanatory, the dates for the Growl in 2012 will be Friday the 8th to Sunday the 10th of June at Ettington Chase near Stratford-upon-Avon. I've still got some detail to work through with Ettington but this date offers the best overall package.
Can we please reserve our rooms early as there is going to be a squeeze on availability so if the later you leave it the more it will cost and I have no control over the cost but it could be as much as £120-£130 per night, so you've been warned.
I'll post details when they are confirmed.

I've never been to this event before (having only recently swapped my cobra for a griff as a weekend toy), and have just booked at the hotel for the weekend.
This will be the first "car" event my wife has agreed to come to.....she never appreciated complete lack of creature comforts in the cobra (roof, windows, that sort of thing), and I am more used to camping at le mans classic and OGP at ring than hotels........
What might i expect from the growl......

I applaud your efforts but I haven't actually confirmed rates with the hotel yet so be interested in what you paid and how many nights you booked.This will be the first "car" event my wife has agreed to come to.....she never appreciated complete lack of creature comforts in the cobra (roof, windows, that sort of thing), and I am more used to camping at le mans classic and OGP at ring than hotels........

Its a great event and has now become much more of a social gathering and the cars are just a tool to get there!
On the serious side - lots of traders to spend money with (ACT, Sportmotive and Elmwood already confirmed), a rolling road (already confirmed with the cheeky cockneys), a drive out (some people actually went out this year), and lots of chit chat and banter. The curry on the Friday is extremely popular, excellent value and a brilliant way to lead into the weekend, Saturday night is a BBQ/Hog roast (yet be confirmed), plus lots of drinking (not me though).

booked 2 nights, Friday and Sat, was £150 for both nights....which i thought was pretty reasonable. perhaps when a deal is arranged, they will let me swap the booking.....
