Is there any point after all tese years of the 3 series?

I guess they don't expect to sell too many 4 series in Japan, where 4 is seen as an unlucky number

Oh so a 428i will be a 2.0 petrol turbo, makes sense.

How long before Ferrari send BMW a silly letter saying you can't use the chassis designation F30/32/33/35 because people may confuse these with Ferrari models...

It will be powered by a single-cylinder heating-oil-fuelled 400cc engine made out of cardboard, with 43 turbochargers. The driver involvement will be artificially enhanced by means of plastic-coated playing cards attached to the wheel arches, which rattle against the spokes of the alloy wheels to make it go "bruummmm"

It will cost £50,000

I suspect three year's from now we will. It fits in the with the 5/6-series names, after all.

This all sounds very "audi":

Autocar said:
A new edition to the 3-series line-up, the high-riding F34 3-series GT crossover, will be launched in 2013. This car will be a large hatchback in the mould of the 5-series GT. It will have longer wheelbase (shared with the China-only long-wheelbase 3-series), a more spacious cabin and a larger boot.

The final 3-series variant will be the F35 4-series GranCoupe. This four-door coupe is similar in concept to the soon-to-be-unveiled four-door 6-series GranCoupe. It gets the same long-wheelbase chassis as the 3GT and is BMW’s answer to the Audi A5 Sportback.

I thought that was just China, where the pronunciation of it sounds like 'death' in Cantonese?

wasn't the 2door E30 cheaper then the 4door back in the day? Maybe they're seperating the coupe away from the 3series to make it appear more desirable and hike up the price over the standard 4door even more then they currently do.

Oh yeah, that's the one... I knew it was something along those lines wink

Still, China would be an even bigger disaster for BMW, as the market is much bigger there

That pattern's bloody horrible. They need to ditch that.

To me it's looking more swoopy like the A5, rather than a 3 door 3 series Coupe. IYSWIM.
