Many people expressed their approval for the hood cover fitted to Simons car SJS357 at S club this year.
I have spoken to a local trimmer who would be prepared to make up the covers with the fittings (with a choice of colour). They would work out at £190 each plus carriage, is there any interest????

I'm quite interested in how it would be fitted. Does the rear hood section have to be removed to fit the press stud bases? How are they aligned with the press stud caps on the hood cover? Is a press stud on the roof strut included like the original, and would this work on the alloy versions as well? Do you think it would be a straightforward DIY job?

Firstly I think it would be a simple DIY job once the first one is made and fitted. The trimmer I have spoken to made a replacement cover for Simons car so have been able to quote from photos.
I have fitted simple pram type hoods many years ago (wou;dnt attempt an S hood though with all the sticking down with contact glue) and the process was to fit the base of the fastner first. For the hood cover they are fitted to the existing rear hood fixing rail by self tapper through the hood. So the existing hood isnt disturbed. Once they are done the cover is stretched over the and the positions marked and a hole cut bt a hole punch and the top of the fastner fitted.
Now the fixing to the strut, probably by press stud as the original but I want to discuss that with the trimmer as I would prefer not to have the alloy drilled,
Wont happen soon but watch this space.
