LCD above fire place ??

Is it ok to have the LCD above a fire place....not a real fire but an inset fire within a surround????

No, it'll look ridiculous. Keep it at eye level like any normal person should, its an electronic device, not a piece of art.

samsung LED above fire (duff picture - just took this pic), last year there was a samsung lcd there which got a little hot but didn't seem to suffer for it.

fire looks small - but that is a 40 inch tv

This is Mrs Cjellis rebuttal to my attempt to fit a bigger tv above the fire. The extra space freed up in the corner between the wall and the chimney breast doesn't seem to be enough to swing the decision in my favour.
