as christmas keeps crawling forward, my mrs has asked if I would like a plate for the family car.
was just looking as an alternative to watching corrie.
Anyway KY55 AKY came up for £200 notes and I quite like the idea of it, never had one before though.
Are they considered 'chavvy' ? and is the one we saw any good?
my surname is atkinson by the way thumbup

Try using the search function for the weekly threads on "chavvy" personal plates

Never heard anyone say private plates are "Chav" or similar but what the plate says can be "chavvy".

Go for it, don't really think it's a brilliant plate for Atkinson unless your knickname is "AKY"..... £200 isn't bad though .... Including tranfer fees or not ?

I think it was £230 all in on the dvla website, Is it good enough to make the car not look like a 55 plate though?

I'm very tempted by a plate that directly spells the model of one of my cars followed by my initials, £600 though and I can't help thinking that when I sell the car it won't add anything and when the cars gone I won't want it. Do the DVLA just take them back for approximately what you paid?

Nope would still look like a '55 plate car, look at Prefix registrations on the DVLA site.

If you like it get it - there will be plenty on here who say it's chavvy as every personal plate thread on here seems to degenerate into this type of sillyness. I have a personal plate and while I'm sure some people may think its pretentious/chavvy/flash/ostentatious etc etc I really couldn't give two sts. I like it, it's mine and I will keep it for as long as I see fit. I really wouldn't concern yourself with what other people think about your choice - it's completely subjective.........

It depends. Dont get a 'chavvy' one. In general they're good I know I can get a good one for me that costs £250, so one day maybe smile

A toyota corolla verso that I had to swap my 135R for ;(

edited to say, not a bad car too... all the toys, dvd player and a 2.2d turbo that can surprise a few cars... Need to keep topping up the secret noble stash though!
