Discussion
After days and days of browsing exec diesels, looking for something not too thristy but not too slow, i've got a bit fed up of searching cars under £10k that have done more than 324874327328 miles.
I've also had some s
tty work news today, and it's been a b
ks week, so im just going to to and buy a fast petrol and f
k the ozone a bit more. My st220 is fairly quick, but not quick enough.
No hot hatches or coupes, and nothing older than 4/5 years.
I've had a look at the VXR Vectra which is winning at the moment. I had three vectras before my mondeo and love them, found them far more confortable and a nicer layout inside.
I wanted a VXR8 but the cheapest is about £16k.

I don't get the age limitation thing. A friend's son just bought an 05 Monaro 5.7 VXR with about 50k on the clock for £10k. It will be bulletproof and it will go on forever and it will dump all over a Vectra with alacrity. It will also be cheaper to service being a nice simple all alloy pushrod Chevy engine.

E46 M3. It'll be slightly older than what you want but they're pretty amazing.
At risk of sounding like a knob, an M3 is certainly fantastic bang for your buck. I have one myself and it's a cracking bit of kit.An Impreza STi would be within your requirements too, and it's possibly one of the best handling cars I've ever driven. As would a VX220, Z4M, or even a Mustang.
Would the E46 M3 not fall foul of the 'no coupes' requirement though?
Until I read that to be honest my first thought was 'Monaro', which then grew stronger as I read about your lust for a VXR8! Monaros can be had silly cheap now.
Failing that the suggestion of an S-type R must be worth a look in

With the stories I heard from a mate who worked at a Holden dealer I wouldn't be so sure about that! Mind you a lot of the worst cases were straight from the factory so an 05 might have been sorted out by now.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
