What car? As fast as possible but 30mpg and 200g co2.
Discussion
Hi
My current car a 1 series coupe 118d is on a PCP scheme but coming up to 50% complete so am thinking of changing it, I basically want something as fast as possible my company provide a fuel card so not bothered about real world mpg however my company stipulates that on paper it must do 30mpg and have less than 200g of co2 emissions.
I hav around 25K to spend so lets hear your suggestions, i was thinking 335 as a possibility??
Cheers
Olly

Is there a limit to the on the road price? My current car a 1 series coupe 118d is on a PCP scheme but coming up to 50% complete so am thinking of changing it, I basically want something as fast as possible my company provide a fuel card so not bothered about real worls mpg however my company stipulates that on paper it must do 30mpg and has less than 200g of co2 emissions.

An Audi S5 coupe is 190g CO2/km and 34.9mpg combined, but they start at £42K..

Modern Elises aren't toooo bad, at least compared to the older ones. Don't expect it to feel like a saloon car, though. Try one and see what you think. A Europa might be a better bet for that little bit of extra comfort.
ETA: Doh, the Europa doesn't meet the CO2 requirements.
It can be used, i can finance the vehicle however i want, i have around a 25k budget, the only stipulations are the 30mpg and 200g co2, however i dont think my MD would be that impressed if i arrived in a caterham lol!
And obviously this will be my only car and will do around 20 - 25 k miles a year so bear that in mind.
Keep them coming guys

Right...
Brand new:
Golf GTI 211PS 38.7mpg combined cycle 170g/km (around £25,000)
Plus GTI clones like the A3 (warning replace soon), VRS & Cupra.
Used
Golf GTI (MK5) 35mpg combined 189g/km (say £13,000 for a excellent 2008 model) again lots of clones to choose from. An ED30 has 230PS and 34mpg/194g
Golf R (MK6 version) 265PS 33.2 mpg combined 199 g/km (just within £25k)

I think I'm right in saying that it's impossible to have a car that produces less than 200g/km but still does less than 30mpg. The worst possible fuel economy would be something like 33mpg. So your lease company's 30mpg stipulation is completely irrelevant!
One day the world - and this includes motoring press and the like! - will figure out that in modern cars, the two figures really measure the same thing.

Only on the facelift model with the 3.0 Supercharged engine which aren't even in the showroom yet, the old V8 S5's are all in the highest group (M).Certainly in my company all the cars are bought for the purporse.
edit: Just saw OP posting that it can be secondhand. Sorry
