I've yet to see a Ford Galaxy where the blue oval "Ford" badge is actually intact. On most 2-3 year old cars it's faded to a white oval.

If they cant even engineer a badge to last a few years what hope is there for the car? hmmm..........

I've noticed this, too. Seems pretty much every one. Where were they produced? Spain, with VAG? Maybe the badge for this model is sourced from an alternate supplier to other Ford models and the spec they used on the adhesive wasn't correct?

It hasn't actually fallen off! The blue dye in the badge has just completely faded away, leaving behind a white oval piece of plastic!

Is this the modern day equivalent to a faded red/pink mondeo?

Fords are generally good cars but have a certain cheap and cheerful nastiness to them. Generally reliable in the right places but annoying little things seem to go wrong in my experience.

Yesterday I saw a last gen red Corsa with a patchwork of faded panels. The whole rear of the side was fine, but the door wasn't and neither was the bonnet. But I think the wing was fine. Just amusing how only certain parts were affected and you were therefore left with these abrupt changes in paint.

But yes to the OP I know what you mean. Makes them look pretty shoddy.

I've got one at home at the moment, and I agree. It's annoying. The rear badge is the same.

It's the wheels that really make it look shabby though (the diamond cut ones on the Ghia models anyway). The lacquer seems to last a month from the factory before flaking off!

Two 09 plate mondeos at work both have peeling laquer to their badges.

Looks really shody, but the Focus in the car park on a 58 is fine.

The crazy thing is that the badge will have been tested, tested, and tested some more to make sure this doesn't happen.

We would be getting our arses kicked to high heaven if something like this kept happening.

My wife's Galaxy is currently sporting a "Galaxy Owners Club" badge..........obviously the same shape/colour/font as the original. Allegedly, the previous owner was told it was £20-odd for a direct replacement from Ford, or £8 from the owners club.

So, there really is a club for everyone!

Hmmm, the Ford badges on my trucks (American) have not faded at all and are 10 years old.

Wonder what's different from the Euro badges?

You can get gel overlay badges for around £10 from DMB graphics. I have them on my Focus in a different colour.

Are you sure that isn't a club for hypervillains?
