I have a guy from France interested in buying my car but he's asking for a COC, what is it and where can I get one from?

If it's not the MoT then it sounds like that EU Type Approval thing - CE marking.

Should be printed in the handbook at a guess, if not approach the manufacturer.

The car manufacturer will supply it - just ask your local dealership, some will supply it free of charge, others you have to pay for...

Depending on the car it could be anywhere from in the handbook to available on application from the manufacturer.

When I brought my Audi over from IOM they insisted on a CoC as it hadn't been registered here first.

They charged about £65 iirc which was a bit mean but it must be something they are asked for a lot as they sent me a form to fillout which had this as an option on it along with other things like replacement Service Book, Drivers Handbook, etc.

I just called up Audi UK and they put me through to the right person to speak to who sent the form to me by fax.

I imagine it does get requested quite often as without it you can't register the car overseas.
