BAE systems autonomous vehicles spotted

Out on the roads yesterday I encountered three of these,
One was this pictured vehicle D1 BAE, one had a similar registration and the the third was different. One vehicle said Nissan on the side, one appeared to be a Land Rover plus this bowler.
Each vehicle had rotating scanners on the roof, all different, and none the same as in this picture.
A strange one!
