The mother sent me a link to a Liebherr Fridge freezer. I'm not sure why as I have no particular knowledge of Fridge freezers. I have not heard of this company. I believe she has picked this one because it “fits in the hole”, has a good energy rating, and the desired ratio of fridge to freezer.

Any “MY GOD DON’T GO FOR THIS PRODUCT/COMPANY” stories would be much appreciated before I tell her it looks fine. My knowledge regarding fridges is very limited…

They are a top-quality German make without the brand recognition of Miele or Bosch. You can expect them to have leading-edge technology and energy efficiency and we have been v.pleased with ours which has performed faultlessly since 2005.

Would you buy a JCB branded fridge? I would, but I wouldn't pay a premium.

Seems pretty cheap for me (£370 ish delivered), I saw they make plant equipment, but didn't see a review of their electricals.

Very useful to have PH feedback- I can sound like someone who knows what they are talking about now smile thanks!

Never heard of them making a fridge - but would quite happily buy a crane or loader off them.

Trouble with that might be that it wont keep your food cool, fit in the kitchen, or be quite what your mum was after - but think - a crane, in the garden. You could empty the neighbours gardens of anything useful.

In a previous job I did a lot of work with fridges and freezers (temperature monitoring of lab equipment), and the Liebherr's were always top notch, very well built and rarely gave trouble, even in busy laboratory type situations (both the proper industrial grade ones and the regular domestic veersions). I'd definately reccommend them.

I work as a refrigeration and catering equipment engineer, and yep, these are good bits of kit.

The end.

I`ve had one for 12 years and it`s never missed a beat, however..........my Mum and Dad bought one on my recommendation 2 years ago and it`s gone horribly wrong, Liebher only have 1 authorised repair agent who have so far relieved them of several hundred pounds and not fixed it on 6 separate occassions.

I am in commercial refrigeration, so can can say with some certainty that most of what they have told them is complete bks irked

My Mum has now had enough and bought a replacement, whilst now in the process of suing them.

So in short I can recommend them, my Mum and Dad can not hehe

Thanks all, I've passed on the recommendation. I knew I could rely on the PH experts.

That surprises me, we had one that broke (design fault though) and Liebherr fixed it FOC despite bein gout of warranty.
